Summer/Fall 2016 - Multiplication

These past few months have been an amazing whirlwind! God has blessed us with a baby girl and has continued bringing us opportunities for ministry. Our most exciting updates are here below:

Introducing Madilyn Naomi DeRuse

On August 19th we welcomed our little Madi into the world. She's now 10 weeks old! Thank you so much for your prayers, gifts and encouragement in this season. You are so dear to us and we hope to have the joy of introducing you in person to Madilyn someday. But until then, Facebook photos will have to do. :)

Fan Inspired to Quit Drugs

We’ve been working to expand the online reach of my music with the hopes that it will bring the message of hope to many people. Last month I received this message from a new fan:

“I wanna say thank you. A friend of mine gave me some of your songs to listen to and 3-19-16 was the day I started to listen to it. Your music gave me the life I needed and I quit drugs cold-turkey. Now I listen to your music all the time. Also, I got a tattoo that says “My story isn’t over yet; 3-19-16” Thanks man, means a lot.”

I'm humbled that God would use my music to influence such a dramatic life change in this man.

Met Fan for Dinner

Zach, a new friend of mine, recently heard my music and messaged me saying he was a fan. To make a long story short, he went out of his way during a trip from Denver to Indianapolis to swing through Kansas City so we could hang out. I had to take him to Jack Stack. I got to talk with him and his mom about life, faith, music and also got to share my story and the message of the Gospel with them. It was a great night!

Encouraging Messages

I've been getting tons of messages on my Facebook music page lately from the USA, Australia, UK and more. People who are looking for answers/advice from people they look up to (in these cases it just happens to be me). I try to listen, and encourage them to seek out what changed my life - a relationship with Jesus. Some are open to the idea, and some offer counter perspectives. I appreciate it all and think it's healthy to dialogue through our differences in personal beliefs. I'm also honored that God would use me to be able to encourage people all around the world through my music.

55 Year Old Impacted

After my show in Smithville, MO, this 55 year old lady came up to me with tears in her eyes, thanked me for pouring my heart out and sharing my story. She then asked me to pray for her. Hip hop transcends age gaps if you aim to be real and passionate. No fake gun bars, baggin' chicks, poppin' mollies, or acting gangster. Just sharing my struggles, challenging people's views on life and bringing glory to the God who changed everything for me.

New Music Videos

Higher Art Cypher

The Higher Art Cypher featured me and several other artists from the Kansas City area. It was to make a positive impact in the city and reflect Christ. All proceeds went to an inner city charity organization.

Reminiscin' 2.0

This is the single for my upcoming album that released in July. It saw over 240,000 views on my Facebook page.

Mainstream is Dead

This was a music video I made for a contest challenging the message of mainstream artists today.

It seemed like every other artist was making a video to this song, so I thought I'd join in and talk a bit about my newborn daughter.

Action 41 News

The "Higher Art Cypher" attracted the attention of a local Kansas City news channel.

103.3 FM

It was awesome being able to be interviewed with a couple other artists on the biggest rap/hip-hop radio station in the Kansas City area.

95.3 FM

Had a great talk on this station and got to freestyle live over the air.

Video Interview w/ Counter Culture

Check out my video interview with Counter Culture about my upcoming music, being white in hip hop, and more!

I spent the second half of September and all of October writing and recording this new album. 100 hours writing and 50 studio hours to be exact! I'm aiming to have it out by the end of the year. It'll be my first album release in 5 years!

  • For little Madi to continue to grow up to be healthy and ultimately to know the Lord.
  • For guidance, clarity, and finances needed in order to complete this new album.
  • For more concerts, speaking engagements, and outreaches to reach more people with the truth of the Gospel.

Thank you!

Thanks again for all the support, both prayerfully and financially. Life-changing events like the stories above are happening because of your friendship, support and encouragement.

Mission Updates

Follow our journey throughout the years:

Spring 2016 - Momentum

DeRuse Ministries Blog Header

Hello again!

I found the title of this blog fitting, as we are indeed gathering momentum as the time-clock continues to tick. We are getting the ball rolling ministry wise (with several outreaches took place in the recent past and are taking place in the near future), gearing up for some new music, preparing to have a baby girl in August and recently booked our first out of country concert as DeRuse Ministries!

City Union Mission (3/17)

A couple weeks ago we had the privilege of going to a homeless shelter to perform and preach the Gospel. It’s always a humbling experience to bring the Good News to those who are often treated as worthless to society. We were able to talk afterwards with some of the men there and encourage them in their walk with the Lord.

Bonner Springs Middle School (3/24)

We had the amazing opportunity to perform at the middle school in the neighboring town from where I grew up. There were over 200 kids in attendance — many of them hungry for truth! Our prayer is that the message of the Gospel will continue to weigh heavily upon their hearts. Check out the live freestyle I did at this event below:

New Life Assembly (3/30)

After a performance I did for the youth group at New Life Assembly in Oak Grove, Missouri, a boy about the age of 12 came up to me and shared about how his parents split up when he was young like mine did. From there, he bounced around in foster care before he was finally adopted. He thanked me for taking the time to share my story, and was encouraged by how God changed my life. It’s stories like this that make it all worth it!

New Life Assembly

Lee's Summit North's Baccalaureate

After speaking/performing at Lee's Summit North's Baccalaureate service, this lady came up to me with tears in her eyes, thanking me so much for what I shared (I did a spoken word type poem of the Gospel message). She started crying halfway through my performance and told me she couldn't stop even after the event was over.

I hugged her, encouraged her, and gave her my email if she needed to reach out and talk more with my wife and me. I'm honored to be able to give the message, though it's the Gospel itself that does the work. This is why we do what we do - to see lives impacted by the power of the Gospel!

Check out the video of my spoken word poem of the Gospel below!

Bar Wars *Episode 1* (3/1/16)

I released a fun Star-Wars themed single in March with a lyric video. Check it out below:

Reminiscin' 2.0 *Single* (5/10/16)

Reminiscin' 2.0 is the follow up single from the original song which was on the "DeRusalem Mixtape". The audio was released on May 10th and the music video is soon to follow. Check out the audio to it below via YouTube:

Kansas City Higher Arts Cypher

I had the privilege of being a part of a song with 11 other Christian Hip Hop artists in the Kansas City area. The song is done being recorded and we just shot the music video (picture below) that is soon to be released along with the audio of the song. Details to come! Can't wait to share with you all.

New Music Coming

I'm planning on releasing a new project hopefully by the end of the year. I've been busy writing and getting everything ready. The only thing that I'm not sure about is how life will be when Dani and I (mostly Dani lol) bring this daughter into the world this coming August.

For more information on upcoming events go to

  • For a safe trip to Montana May 31-June 7) for Rickey's (Cole's brother) high school graduation.
  • For continued open doors for more outreaches and concerts.
  • Safety for Dani and the baby as she enters the third trimester of pregnancy.
  • For wisdom and finances to release a new album by the end of the year (Lord willing).

A HUGE thank you to all those who pour into our lives and ministry both prayerfully and financially. Lives are being reached and positive, Christ-centered music is getting into the hands of people all over the globe. My last music release "The DeRusalem Mixtape" has been downloaded over 250 times from 15 different countries. SO awesome! We seriously couldn't do what we do without you all!

Winter 2015 - Year End

I’m writing to you today because Dani & I need your help in reaching more people with the Gospel of Christ through the avenue of music. As you may have read in our ministry highlight photo (pictured above), 2015 has been an amazing year and we can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for 2016!

Next year we plan to release a full album, purchase additional ministry equipment needed to be more effective, and continue to reach out to people through concerts and street evangelism. We believe making quality music that glorifies Christ will continue to change lives! Would you consider giving an end of the year gift of $250, $500 or another amount to help launch us out full-speed into the new year?

Click the button below to give a tax-deductible, end of the year donation.

There’s no pressure or obligation (2 Corinthians 9:7), but any amount you give will go towards making more music to impact the generations with the Gospel.

Cole & Dani DeRuse

P.S. Perhaps you'd pray especially about joining our monthly support team (or increasing your monthly support). We are looking for 5 partners to join (or increase) at $75 per month and 10 partners to join (or increase) at $50 per month. This would help take us to the next level in reaching people with the Gospel of Christ.

Go to our giving page for more information on how to give.

Fall 2015 - Falling Forward

Dani and I are so encouraged by the response from my latest project titled, “The DeRusalem Mixtape”. Many friends, family, and supporters rallied behind us by downloading, sharing, and financially contributing to the project from all over the world! There were over 230 downloads from 15 different countries! If you don’t have it yet, go download it HERE. You have nothing to lose—it’s FREE!

We've had a busy couple of months with: outreaches, learning more of the music and for-profit side of the coin, booking new events, preparing for concerts, writing new music, growing in the Lord, and serving with our local church (Mission Road Bible Church). Having the time and energy to grow and do ministry well has been such a blessing! Here's a handful of outreach/concert highlights from the past couple of months:

Westside Family Church - White Out Party (9/12-13)

The whiteout party was one of the highlights of our quarter. The sound was awesome, the kids were excited, and it was such a high energy event. Dani and I were able to reach out to a couple hundred kids over the course of 2 days and handed out over a hundred Gospel tracts in the process. Check out the freestyle video below. The kids loved it! Click HERE or the photo above to see a highlight video of the concert.

Nehemiahfest (9/19)

After performing at Nehemiahfest (in Smithville, MO), a lady came up to my wife and me with tears in her eyes asking for prayer and thanked me for sharing my story/the Gospel in such a relatable way on stage. She then shared with us about her ongoing meth addiction which resulted in her child being taken from her by the state. She recently put herself in a rehab program to get clean, but was on the brink of calling it quits the night before my performance. She reluctantly stayed to see my show, but was so glad she did! She wants to keep following the Lord, maintain her sobriety and take the necessary steps towards getting her child back. Be praying with us for this young lady! Click HERE or the photo above to see some of the live concert.

Jubilee Church's Grand Opening (9/19)

Jubilee 2015.jpg

Rapping with a good friend of mine, Joe "InfiniteVizion" Affholter at his church's grand opening was a blast. The majority of people there may not have picked rap/hip-hop music as their first choice, but being able to relate to them through the avenue of music was an encouraging experience.

Christian Life Center -  Lee's Summit, MO (10/28)

Christian Life Center 2015.jpg

After performing at this youth event a couple girls came up and asked me to pray for their friend who was finally back at church after 4 years. What was encouraging about this is that the girls had to be around 10 or 11 years old! I pray the Lord keeps them all on the narrow path, by His grace.

Evangel's Halloween (10/31)

Evangel's Halloween 2015.jpg

One of my mentors (Michael "TopSpin" Tosspon) invited me out to perform at His church's halloween event in which over 50 people heard the Gospel. It was quite the honor to get an invite to perform with the guy who has been mentoring me spiritually and musically for the past 7 years! A big thanks to all who came out to watch me perform, appreciate you guys.

Prayer Requests:

  • For continued open doors for outreach opportunities.
  • For God to continue to mold us and conform us a bit more every day into the image of His Son.
  • For our the pending outreaches in Nov and Dec to be confirmed so that we can get out there to preach the Gospel.

By God’s grace, we've had 11 outreaches over the past two months—6 alone were in September! Thanks to supporters like you, over 700 people heard the Gospel (since August) through the avenue of hip hop music at my live shows. We appreciate you, and thank God for you!

With great thanks,

Cole & Danelle DeRuse DeRuse Ministries

Summer 2015 - The Swing of Things

Hello there!

Can I be honest with you? I (Cole) have felt like Batman as of late. Yes, Batman.  And it's not because my wife and I have recently watched some Batman movies either. It's because I've been locked away in my "bat cave" working on the finishing touches of my next music release titled, "The DeRusalem Mixtape". Bruce Wayne often retreated to the bat cave to work on new gadgets, upgrades, and other similar things that helped him save Gotham. Well, I've been writing new songs and upgrading my musical utility belt which will help aid me in saving Kansas City. Okay, that's a bit theatrically dramatic... But I am trusting the Lord to encourage many with this new project I've been refining for months!

The DeRusalem Mixtape

"The DeRusalem Mixtape" is a free, online mixtape available for download September 1st. This is an important release for me, as it’s been nearly 4 years since my last album, and I have so much to say. This 8 track album tackles issues like: growing up in a broken home, making poor choices, standing firm for truth in the midst of a pro-“tolerance” society, and staying committed and faithful to the one you marry. We can't wait for you all to hear it! We are finishing the final bit of fundraising to make sure this happens as smoothly as possible. If you'd like to support us financially in helping us to finish this project, click the "Give" link on the menu bar above. You'll get early access to the download link if you do!

Music Video (7/31/15)

Last Friday I found myself in a familiar place, Basehor-Linwood High School. For those who don't know, that's where I went to school growing up. We were shooting a music video for a future full album release in 2016 and from there we were off to another location to film the intro song for "The DeRusalem Mixtape". This intro video will be available on September 1st and will be the main method of promotion for the entire mixtape. Be praying for the Lord to reach many with this project!

Outreach Highlights

Johnson County Jail Outreach (6/6/15) No photos allowed

Prisons, jails and similar facilities have always been important to our hearts. We had the opportunity to go to the Johnson Country Jail to rap and preach the Gospel. In places like that, hip hop tends to speak louder and often more clearly than other genres. A friend's husband of ours was actually in there (though we didn't find out until later). God's timing is perfect!

Awaken Youth Camp (6/29/15)

We had the privilege of performing at the Awaken Camp this year in Rushville, MO. Many kids were impacted by the message that was brought and inspired by the content of the music. A few of the staff from the camp even thanked us for being so bold with the message and transparent with the delivery. Praise God!

Indian Creek Community Church (7/5/15)

Indian Creek Church brought me in to perform a custom spoken word piece about being more than a Sunday Christian. The event went great overall, and many were encouraged/challenged by the message. A video of the spoken word performance was released publicly on Facebook and it got over 120 shares and 12,000+ views! Check it out HERE.

Prayer Requests

KCK7 Impact - KCK7 Impact is a Kansas City Ministry whose vision is to restore hope – one student at a time, with the purpose of transforming lives, families, and our local communities. They have approached my wife and me about speaking at their school assemblies and performing/preaching the Gospel at their night shows. This will put us in front of a different Kansas City middle school every month from September to May. Hundreds of kids will have the opportunity of hearing the Gospel at each event! Please keep us in prayer as we move forward working with this ministry to bring the hope of the Gospel to the surrounding schools in the area.

Shoulder Progression - I experienced a bit of a hiccup in the healing process of my shoulder in July. There was some constant burning for a couple weeks straight which brought me back to the doctor to get things checked out. My doctor was pretty convinced it isn't re-torn, and had me rest for a few weeks. Please keep me in prayer for continued healing and an upwards progression over this shoulder.

Upcoming Outreaches - There are a bunch of upcoming outreaches this September, which is exciting, and we are believing the Lord for even more opportunities and open doors to get out there and use music to preach the Gospel. If you will be in prayer about open doors and opportunities to share the Gospel that'd be awesome! Also, if you know of any music event or outreach going on please let us know. =)

Thank you

Reaching people like this is only possible because of God providing generous partners like you. Thank you to everyone who believes in us, pours into us financially, and who keeps us covered in prayer!

Until Next Time,

Cole & Danelle DeRuse

6 Warnings to the "hyper-grace" movement

There's a destructive and deceptive poison that has been steadily seeping into the church. Many may not have even heard of the term "hyper-grace" before. Here's a quick paragraph on what it is according to

"The term hyper-grace has been used to describe a new wave of teaching that emphasizes the grace of God to the exclusion of other vital teachings such as repentance and confession of sin. Hyper-grace teachers maintain that all sin, past, present, and future, has already been forgiven, so there is no need for a believer to ever confess it. Hyper-grace teaching says that, when God looks at us, He sees only a holy and righteous people. The conclusion of hyper-grace teaching is that we are not bound by Jesus’ teaching, even as we are not under the Law; that believers are not responsible for their sin; and that anyone who disagrees is a pharisaical legalist. In short, hyper-grace teachers “pervert the grace of our God into a license for immorality” (Jude 1:4) and flirt with antinomianism." Full article here.

People who speak out against this movement (or any false teaching really) are pegged as "religious, pharisaical, judgemental, and disunifying" among other coined descriptive words. It's interesting to note that those outside the church react the exact same way when they are told something they do is wrong as according to scripture. Maybe the church has let the whole tolerance thing creep into its doors also?

Here's 6 brief warnings/cautions to those who are followers of the movement:

  • Let's not over emphasize the love of God and forget to talk about his holiness (Rev. 15:4).
  • Let's not confuse love with tolerance and approval/acceptance of sin (Rom. 1:32, Proverbs 17:15).
  • Let's not forget that God will come back to judge the earth in righteousness (Acts 17:31).
  • Let's not confuse those who view the infallible, God breathed, perfect Word of God as the final authority (2 Pet. 1:19-21, 2 Tim. 3:16-17, Psalm 19:7, John 17:7) with those who would violate the 2nd commandment and worship some man-made idol.
  • Let's be clear to understand that reading and studying the Word of God does not automatically make someone a Pharisee (2 Tim 2:15, Joshua 1:8).
  • Let's be careful not to make a god in an image that we see fit (Ex. 20:4).

The problem with the hyper-grace movement is that it exchanges the truth of God for a lie and purely appeals to the unregenerate's senses, thus tickling their ears with false doctrine (2 Tim. 4:3). Some will say I'm being judgmental, harsh, and disunifying the body of Christ. Not true - I'm speaking in love, with sincerity, and only revealing what scripture teaches. If someone teaches another Jesus than the Jesus of the bible, woe to them (2nd Cor. 11:3-4, 2 John 1:10-11).

It's very sad to see so many caught up in such deception. My prayer is that this article will make some aware of its faulty foundations, and see the movement for what it is: Poison.

Freedom isn't free

I saw an elderly gentlemen with a "veteran" hat on today while leaving a restaurant. Smiling genuinely, I shook his hand and thanked him for his service. My friend behind me did the same, as did my wife. My wife also shook the hand of the veteran's wife saying, "I'll shake your hand too." The gentlemen's response was very sobering.

"She went through it too."

Often times I forget the battles that were fought, the blood that was spilt, and the people that sacrificed everything because they believed in this country.

I'm an American who has served no military time and I have no immediate family who has either. It's hard for me to relate at times when days like this come up. I don't know what it's like to lose a loved one overseas. I definitely don't know what it's like to wake up and hesitate to check the mail, afraid of the letter I may find in the mailbox.

There are many families splintered to the core because they lost a loved one during a war. There are many soldiers who did survive but will never be the same. There are many people (like me) who have no idea what that is like.

I will not pretend to comprehend or understand. I simply do not know. BUT I refuse to look down upon the soldier. I refuse to condemn someone who gave everything so that citizens like me in this country can have something... and be free. There will always be speculations and reasons why people do not believe in the wars our country has fought in. I may not understand every war, but I do respect every soldier who chose to serve and fight for what they believe in. I also respect those who fought when they didn't believe (or those who didn't have a choice), but did so out of obedience to their country.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Some just forget that the reason why they have an opinion is because someone gave up their life in that individual's stead.

As a Christian, I'm thankful to live in a country where I can freely read my bible and pray to God without the fear of losing my life. I love this country. I love being here. I'm thankful to God for that. I'm thankful to God for the bravery of many soldiers (and family members) who gave up much so that I can have much. Not in the material sense, but much in the sense of freedom.

Happy Memorial Day

Spring 2015 - New Beginnings

May 2015 Update

It's been nearly 2 months since "DeRuse Ministries" became official, and time is flying by–– the days becoming weeks. Since our launch we've been busy finishing up our branding and website, working on my artist website, writing new music, and setting up future events and outreaches. I've also been progressing leaps and bounds from shoulder surgery, and am now able to move my left arm freely without limitation. Now it's time to get my strength back! Please keep me in prayer during this season of physical therapy and recovery.

Basehor Linwood High School (4/8)

The assistant principal of BLHS invited us to speak to the freshman class last month, and it was quite the honor. This was the first time I have been back to my high school to speak. The subject of my speech (developing characteristics of a leader and overcoming adversity) was very timely, though I had no idea the freshman class was going through some major disciplinary issues with drug abuse both on and off school property... Check out the video snippet below!

Spoken Word Sermons (4/8,15,22)

We were invited out to Lenexa Christian Center for the month of April to perform 3 different spoken word poems to open up the Pastor's sermons on a series called "I don't know what I believe." The first week was on salvation, where I took a good 4 minutes to break down the Gospel–the necessity of turning from sin and placing our trust in Jesus to escape the wrath to come. It was an amazing, humbling opportunity to get to pour into the youth three weeks in a row!

California (4/30-5/14)

Many of you may be surprised to know that I have never been to California to see a good portion of Dani's family and friends... until a couple weeks ago. Our good friends Adam & Tori heard that I had never been out there and offered to fly us out as a Christmas gift. They seriously blessed us beyond measure by doing this! We had a great time with Dani's old high school friends and family. Many competitive games of Skip-Bo were played. I may or may not have won most of them... =)

Hip Hop Event

I also had an opportunity to rap at a hip hop event in Los Angeles during our time in California. Over 2,000 people tried out for an online contest months prior, and roughly 400 were invited to the next round to rap live in front of a panel of judges. I did not go expecting to win, and win I did not (*In my best Yoda Voice*), BUT we had some amazing opportunities to get in there, spread the Gospel, and love on the people.

Upon taking one 17 year old through the commandments to show that he had broken the commandments and needed to turn from his sin and trust in God, I was pleasantly surprised at how receptive he was! Another guy even responded to a conversation we were having with him regarding faith by saying, "People like you make me want to go back to church". Many were surprised yet encouraged at the fact that we loved Jesus and chose to venture outside the bubble of the church to reach out to them. Check out the video of the verse I performed live.

Guest Judge at KICK Martial Arts (5/19)

Just last week I was invited by newlyweds TJ & Tiffany Holgerson to be a guest judge at KICK Martial Arts for their belt testing. I was able to speak to the entire group of 55+ kids and parents about what Dani and I did, and even got to rap a verse for them. I challenged them to train hard, and to keep God (Jesus) first. There was even a muslim family there who listened to the message!

New Music

I plan on releasing a free mixtape this summer called "The DeRusalem Mixtape." This is a much needed music release which will showcase my growth as an artist. This also tackles some real, raw, sensitive issues and topics of life in a direct yet loving way. Many hours of writing has gone into this and I'll finish up recording in the next handful of weeks! Please pray for God's guiding hand over me as I finish up this album process and start working on recording music videos and visuals to reach out to the youth of this generation!

Thank you

We would not be able to do any of this without the faithful support of our partners in ministry. Lives are being changed because you help to send us out. We love our team, and thank God for each and every one of you. Again, thank you!

Sincerely, Cole & Dani DeRuse

Oct/Nov 2014 - Egypt & Israel

After a 3 week frenzy of airplanes, layovers, lack of sleep, crazy bus rides and stomach sickness, we find ourselves back at home tired and jet-lagged. You may be thinking, “Was Egypt and Israel worth all that?” You bet it was!

By God’s grace, we were able to preach the Gospel to thousands in Egypt and hundreds in Israel. Both are very hard ground, but many people in these areas are hungry for truth amongst a region dominated by Islam.

Egypt 2014

While in Egypt, we partnered with Kasr El Dobara church for a big sports camp/conference. Thousands of people poured in daily from a seemingly enless supply of busses for the 4 day event. The church streamed their night shows and some of the performances (Including ours) across Middle Eastern television. Potentially hundreds of thousands could have been watching! People actually recognized us from television when we were in Israel the next week. I couldn’t believe it!

Egypt crowd.jpg
Cole speaking in Egypt 2014

The desert sun was hot and exhausting, but we gave everything we had during our 8 performances! Hundreds crowded around our station to see what we were about, and many stayed in the heat until the end. There were many opportunities to talk and pray with people after the show. Dani and I challenged them to “pick up their cross daily”. I even got to pray for a lady (pictured below) that I had prayed for back in 2012. It was crazy that God would cross our paths again! She has a ROUGH past, but there’s no limits to what God can do.

Egypt Highlights

Camel Riding Egypt 2014.jpg

Pyramid kick 2014.jpg

We had one day of sightseeing, so of course we had to go see the pyramids! The sheer size of the Giza pyramids was jaw dropping! 2.3 million blocks were used to build this 2.5 ton limestone tower... Think on that for a minute or two!

After an amazing day consisting of the pyramids, sphinx, and nile river, it was time for our next destination - Israel.

Israel 2014.jpg

There was something really special for Dani and I about going to the Holy Land of Israel. Seeing the sites like Jesus’ tomb, the Mount of Olives, Old City Jerusalem, the Wailing Wall, David’s tomb, the Sea of Galilee, Mount Carmel and a few others REALLY brought the bible to life for us. I wish you could have been there! It was absolutely breathtaking.

We had several opportunities to perform and minister to the Jews and Arabs of Israel. I couldn’t believe that God would use a Gentile to bring back his true Word to His people (the Jews)!

Syrian Border

syrian border.jpg

One afternoon we traveled to the Israel/Syrian border to pray for the persecuted church across the way. As we were praying, gunshots & explosions could be heard in the distance. It was a sad time, but being only miles away from ISIS was a big eye opener. What we are hearing about (and there’s much we aren’t hearing about) on the news is really happening!

Andrew White - Vicar of Baghdad

Andrew White Blog

We went to a church service in which Andrew White, the Vicar of Baghdad, was speaking at. He vividly and horridly painted the real picture of what was happening in Iraq. The church gasped allowed and broke out in tears of intercession as he shared about the children of Chistians getting decapitated because they wouldn’t denounce Jesus. Oh, the faith of a child! PLEASE keep the Christians of the Middle East in your prayers. It’s really a matter of life and death for them. Thousands have been slaughtered thus far and many more have left their homes seeking refuge anywhere than can find it.

Thank You

This was one of the greatest trips I have ever been a part of. Seeing God move and touch so many people was humbling and such a blessing. If only I had the time to share every story with you!

Because of you, people were impacted for eternity. Hearts were touched and lives were changed because of your willingness to send us out through prayer and finances. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! It’s truly an honor to partner with you in ministry.

Until Next Time,

Cole & Dani DeRuse

Lima, Peru Update - July 2014

Over 18,000 commit to follow Jesus in Peru!

After the 40 hour drive home from Mexico we found ourselves on yet another adventure just days later to Lima, Peru!

70% of Lima is under the age of 30 (about 6 million people)! What a crucial time and place to bring forth the message of the death, burial, and resurrection of the living God.

Thousands were impacted in schools, street corners, markets, impoverished villages, and anywhere else we could get to. Many were set free from past pains. Hundreds heard the clear Gospel message for the first time, understanding what it really meant to follow Jesus, and committed to surrendering their life to him right then and there!

Check out the quick highlight video of the Peru outreach. It's well worth the 3 minutes to check out what God was up to!

Dani Preaching

One of the major highlights of the trip was seeing my wife preaching the Gospel with boldness and clarity at a school assembly with around 100 kids listening in. I'm so blessed to have her in my life and on my team!

The week concluded with a huge stadium event packed with over 40,000 people (top picture)! Our fearless leader, Kevin Stark, had the privilege of bringing forth the Gospel message. Nearly 13,000 people committed to following Jesus in one night! It was an amazing time we will never forget! There are so many stories I wish to share with you, but there are simply too many to choose from.

We owe a big thank you to all those who made this possible for us to go and reach the people of Peru with the Gospel message. We could NOT have done it without you. Thanks so much for your generosity and your willingness to see lives changed!

(July 2014) Mexico - Faith & tacos

Mexico Main.jpg

What a trip Mexico was! Cold showers, upset stomachs, irregular sleep patterns, broken a/c, and over 70 hours cramped up in a van traveling to/from Mexico was well worth it to see the Gospel reach hundreds of people!

A Skate Park, beaches, markets, gas stations, a rehab center, desert parks, churches, and even a TV show.

Many made commitments to follow Christ, repenting of their sins & confessing with their mouths that Jesus is Lord!

Thanks so much for partnering with us. The lives of hundreds were impacted because of YOUR faithful support to see us sent out to preach the Gospel.

may-june-2014 update.jpg

Global Outreach Day

Global Outreach Day 2014

The national day of evangelism took place on June 14, 2014. It was estimated that over 25 million believers shared their faith across the globe on the same day!Being a part of that in KC was awesome!

More than 20 churches around the Kansas City area took part that day, reaching out to many with the Good News of the Gospel. We specifically partnered with an event called "SummitFest", where over 1,000 people gathered in Lee's Summit to see something big happen for their community. Dozens committed their lives to following Jesus. Just take a look at the response below!

One Year Married!

It's hard to believe that a year has already gone by since we both said, "I do". They say the first year can be the hardest. Well, the first year (for us) was SO much fun! Living life, traveling the world and seeking first the Kingdom together has been amazing!

My Sister's Graduation

We took a little vacation time and flew to Montana for my sister's high school graduation. Time indeed does fly. Seems like yesterday my mom was asking me if I thought 'Heaven' would be a good name for my sister. Here's a few pictures of our trip. It was an awesome time with family!

  • Safety over our travels this month.
  • Many to be impacted by the power of the Gospel.
  • For the Word to be preached with boldness & clarity.

As I write this, we are heading to Wichita, KS to pour into some kids at a youth camp this week. We are so blessed to be able to go whenever and wherever the Lord would send us because of your faithful support. A HUGE thank you to all who support us financially and in prayer to see many lives impacted across the globe by the power of the Gospel.

That's our passion and thanks to you we are able to actually GO and see it happen first hand. Again - Thank you!

April 2014 - New Mexico Tour

Our tour throughout New Mexico was amazing. The 14 hour car ride was long, but well worth it. We were able to reach out to over 5,000 people and over 1,000 committed their lives to follow Christ wholeheartedly! Many were encountered by the power of God. Marriages were restored, broken hearts were healed, and local churches were united! Here's a brief breakdown of the tour:

  • 3 Cities (Columbus, Deming, Moriarty)
  • 14 School assemblies
  • 4 night shows

I can't tell you how much of a blessing these 2 two weeks in New Mexico were. THANK YOU for being a part of sending us through both prayer and finances. Many lives were changed by the power of the Gospel and many lives will continue to change as they get plugged into the local church and raised up to become men and women of Godly integrity!

Sincerely in Christ,

Cole & Danelle DeRuse

Fall 2013 - Travels, Married Life & Amazing Faces!

It's been awhile since we've updated. Much has gone on! The biggest thing: Enjoying marriage, learning about each other and growing in the Lord. I can certainly say I married my best friend! October 15th marked four months, wow!

The past couple months has been amazing! There's never really a dull moment on our team.

Here's a brief overview of where we have been the passed couple months, give or take a handful of local outreaches.

  • Wichita, KS (Outdoor church event)
  • Olathe, KS (Neighborhood outreach)
  • Brooklyn, MI (Nascar event)
  • Covina, CA (Trick or Treat outreach)
  • Watertown, SD (2 week Impact World Tour - 12 school assembles - 4 night shows)

I know pictures speak a thousand words, so I will let them speak!

Collage - Oct missions update

Collage - Oct missions update

Our two week tour in Watertown, SD was amazing! Over 9,000 people heard the Gospel message, and over 1,200 people responded to give their entire lives to following Jesus. Such a great time!

With every person that we meet, we see a lot of similar things:

  • Pain
  • Shame
  • Guilt
  • Compromise
  • Fear
  • Rejection...

The list goes on. I can say it is humbling to travel the country and speak into people's lives. Some kids have never heard, "You're awesome, made to be a leader, and created for a purpose."

Being able to travel the world with Team Xtreme, my wife and I get to share our stories and share the truth about Jesus to thousands! If God can change us, he can change them! Seeing the youth of our nation (and the world) completely changed by the power of Christ is what we live for! And guess what?? -- It's happening, glory to God!

Thank you to those who partner with us in both prayer and/or finances. It's an honor to be able to be sent out to the nations because of your faithfulness to see us go make an impact for the Kingdom!

What's Next?

  • My wife & I are taking a week off to build up our support team (Nov 11-17)
  • Kevin & Brian will be in Egypt! (Nov 16-20) I went last year, was amazing!
  • Enjoying the holidays with friends & family

Prayer Requests:

  • For my wife & I to continue to grow in our walk with the Lord and each other. =)
  • We are taking on some exciting things next year (secret for now), but pray for clarity and direction.
  • New music next year. Pray for the process as I will be embarking on another adventure - Album #3!!
  • We are taking a week off (Nov 11-17) to build up our support team. We are so excited for what the Lord is doing we want to invite more to share in adventure with us through finances. Pray for a great time of meetings that week, thank you!

For His Glory,

  Cole & Danelle

July 2013 - Back From Honduras!

Just a week after our honeymoon I found myself aboard another plane headed to Miami, FL. It wasn't easy leaving Dani, but I was excited for what the Lord had in store for the people of Honduras!

From Miami we flew over to Honduras in a Boeing 747 (yes the same type of plane used by the president). That was followed by a 7 hour bus ride to our hotel. What a day! I rested well that night. ;)

The very next day our week started! We had 12 school assemblies in 4 days, and saw over 6,000 kids make commitments to follow the Lord. Many were healed, set free, and forever changed by the power of the Gospel!

With 1,700 missionaries sweeping through the country that week, we did some serious "damage" for the Kingdom! 1.6 million people heard the Gospel message face to face. It's amazing what the Lord can do with those who are willing to go!

Check out our highlight video below to see a bit of the action!

What's Next?

We are lined up with a handful of local outreaches these next couple weeks. Then off to Wichita for a few days followed by a weekend in Michigan. We are staying busy, but loving it!

As far as over seas, Egypt may be next. We shall see. =)

Praise Reports:

- We have paid off 6,000 of debt since March! GO GOD! Even with our wedding, honeymoon, and the outreach to Honduras we are still 100% DEBT FREE and loving it!

-We have had many people blessed and touched by our story & our wedding. It's encouraging/humbling to see the Lord use us in such a way!

Prayer Requests:

- For Dani & I to continue to grow rooted & grounded in our first few months of marriage.

- For our Team to continue to get open doors to preach the Gospel to the nations.

A huge thanks to our partners in ministry. We wouldn't be where and/or who we are without you! You're a valued member of our team. Thanks for all you do for the Kingdom!

For His Glory,

Cole & Dani DeRuse

May 2013 - Our wedding is in 25 days!

25 days until we are known as the "DeRuse" family!

Because of that fact, we are merging everything ministry-wise as well. Our new website is up! Our email lists are also merged, so all of my (Cole) email friends, and Dani's will all get our update as one.

We are excited for this next season =) After marriage we plan on staying on staff with Team Xtreme traveling with them full-time. The Lord is faithful and will continue to provide, we have no doubt about it! A BIG thanks to all those who have played a part in our lives (big or small) and/or our relationship. We are honored to have you be a part and humbled that you would choose to do so.

What have we been up to?

  • Wedding planning
  • Reading pre-marital books
  • Getting pre-marital counseling
  • Spending time together (In our free time)
  • Praying
  • Growing
  • Learning.

With the Team we've been...

  • Traveling across the states infiltrating schools with a positive message of hope (Iowa, Texas, Delaware, and Kentucky)!
  • Getting further discipleship from our leaders on TX
  • Preparing to be a part of evangelizing the entire nation of Honduras in ONE DAY!
  • And so much more. Couldn't be happier!

Keep us in your prayers. Still saving our first kiss for the wedding day =) Gonna make it! Pray for grace during these last few weeks, and for the Lord to continue to encounter us and equip/prepare us for this upcoming season. Thanks to all of you who stand with us. Wouldn't be the same without you!
